Care to have a glass of Bud Lite or cabernet while watching the latest film blockbuster at the local cinema?

You may be able to soon do so. On Thursday, Oct.23 the Garden Grove Zoning Administrator will conduct a public hearing on a request for a conditional use permit for the Starlight Cinema at 12111 Valley View St. in the West Grove Plaza, south of Chapman Avenue.

The applicant, Rod Mirand, is asking for permission to operate with an on-sale beer and wine-eating license at the three-theater cinema.

If approved the sale of alcohol would be between the hours of 11 a.m. and 11 p.m.

The other movie house in Garden Grove selling alcohol is the Regal Cinemas 16 at Chapman Avenue and Brookhurst Street.

Also at the meeting, the zoning administrator will hold a public hearing on a request for a conditional use permit to allow for an off-sale alcohol sale license for beer, wine and spirits (hard liquor) to replace an existing beer-and-wine license at Alpine Market, 11911 Euclid St., north of Chapman Avenue.

The meeting will be held at 9 a.m. at the Courtyard Center, 12732 Main Street.
