Another try at senior housing

After a lengthy, unresolved discussion – perhaps even an argument – on Tuesday night between the developers of the 43-unit Pelican Harbor Apartments for seniors and the Huntington Beach City Council, the two parties will take another crack at it on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

The project, developed by the Jamboree Housing Corporation and built at 18341 Beach Blvd. calls for some financial benefit to the city, but the two parties could not agree on the amount.

Representatives of Jamboree and partner Beach Housing Partners said the project had “low margins” and they had offered all they could. But in the face of losing their financing before the deadline of Oct. 29, they agreed to make one more try.

The council will meet at 4 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 2000 Main St.
