An angry President Donald Trump on Thursday denounced the makers of a video that reminded members of the military and intelligence agencies that they were prohibited from obeying unlawful orders and/or violating the Constitution.
In a social media post, he called the video “seditious” and “punishable by death.”
The video was created by six lawmakers who are also veterans of the military or intelligence community (CIA, NRO, etc.).
“The American people need you to stand up for our laws and Constitution,” said the video.
The Universal Code of Military Justice, which governs all the unformed services, prohibits obeying unlawful orders. All service members — along with most government employees – take an oath to defend the Constitution.
In his post, Trump called the video “really bad and Dangerous to Our Country,” adding SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!!”
Ukraine-Russia “peace proposal” unveiled
A plan to end the war between Russia and Ukraine proposed by the Trump Administration is emerging.
According to The New York Times, the proposal would include Ukraine agreeing to yield territory now occupied by Russian military forces, limit the size of its armed forces and agree that a Western “peacekeeping” force would have no in role in policing the end of the war.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his nation would “constructively, honestly and operationally engage” on a peace plan.
However, he has stated in the past his country would not agree to yield Ukrainian territory seized by force.
