A Huntington Beach man snorkeling at Makena Landing on the Hawaiian island of Oahu drowned on Saturday,

According to authorities, Frank Archuleta, 69, lost consciousness and was brought to shore by bystanders, who attempted lifesaving measures.

First responders were on the scene at around 11:45 a.m. but were unable to revive him. There are no signs of foul play, say police, and an autopsy has been scheduled.

Makena Landing is in Makena State Park on the southwestern coast of Oahu.
