If you were in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach on Saturday night you might have seen a fistful of HBPD patrol vehicles and seen (or heard) the HB1 helicopter hovering overhead.

According to police, an officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a suspected “impaired driver” who failed to yield. That led to pursuit by officers, who were able to “box” the fleeing vehicle in.
After a brief standoff, the driver was taken into custody.

Arrested was a 46-year-old Huntington Beach man charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, a felony charge of resisting a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, and reckless driving on a public highway.
