A proposed contract with the Huntington Beach Firefighters Association union that would give firefighters a 15 percent pay raise over three years goes before the Huntington Beach City Council when it meets on Tuesday.
The Memorandum of Understanding calls for 5 percent salary increases for each of the next three years, beginning on Jan. 1, 2027.
The fiscal impact of the pay raises over three years is $4,797,425. Additional city contributions to health insurance will cost another $428,000 over the three years.
Total cost of the proposal for the three-year period is $5,225,825.
The council has previously approved contracts with the police officers union and the police management group of 17 percent over the three-year period. Those agreements will require the city to take money from city reserves.
The staff report accompanying the Tuesday agenda item did not mention possible impacts on the reserves.
The city council will meet in closed session at 4 p.m. and regular meeting at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 2000 Main St. (at Yorktown Avenue).
