Two firefighting agencies, a police department and good samaritans teamed up to avoid a tragedy on Tuesday in Garden Grove.
On Tuesday at around 8 a.m. on Chapman Avenue, a fire at a home prompted a neighbor to call 9-1-1, while another jumped over a fence and pounded on doors to alert the family inside the house about the fire, making sure all within escaped to safety, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
OCFA firefighters were able to knock down the fire in just 13 minutes, confining the flames to just one area of the house and saving the rest of the structure.
They also helped with the cleanup.
Other help was provided by Anaheim Fire and Rescue, the Garden Grove Police Department and the American Red Cross.
