Oilers advance; Rancho falls

Regardless of how it all ends up, the 2026 baseball season has been a spring to remember for Rancho Alamitos and Huntington Beach high schools.

In the CIF Southern California Regionals Division 1 games on Tuesday, the Oilers hammered Patrick Henry High of San Diego 10-3. The Patriots finish the campaign with a 24-10 mark.

The Oilers are 23-18-1 and advance to the semifinals against the winner of La Mirada (25-8) and Cathedral Catholic (27-6) of San Diego on Thursday. The regional title game will be played on Saturday.

In Division V, the green-and-gold lost 7-4 to the Roosevelt Rough Riders of Los Angeles on Tuesday and completed a 15-13 season which included a second place trophy in the CIF-SS Division 8 playoffs.
