A fire at a commercial building in Huntington Beach was quickly extinguished by firefighters earlier this week.

According to the Huntington Beach Fire Department, the blaze was in the 7400 block of Belva Drive (east of Gothard Street and north of Talbert Avenue).

Arriving firefighters found heavy black smoke coming from multiple roll-up doors of the commercial building. Crews rapidly launched an aggressive attack using forcible entry techniques to gain access to the building while suppressing the fire with exterior hose lines.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire and prevent it from extending further inside the building. HBFD crews remained on the scene for several hours to conduct overhaul operations and make sure that all remaining “hot spots” were extinguished.

There were no civilian injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
