Halos slip past the Rays, Dodgers lose in Chicago

After rolling up an early lead, the Los Angeles Angels held on and posted a 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night in Anaheim.

The Halos scored twice in the second and twice more in the third inning, With the victory, the Angels are 28-42, still fifth and last in the American League West but have won three straight.

DH Nick Madrigal had the best night, going 2-for -3 with one run scored and one driven in. First baseman Trey Mancini tripled to drive in two runs.

Sam Aldegheri (2-1) pitched five innings for the Angels, fielding three hits and two runs (one earned). He walked three batters and struck out four, while lowering his ERA to 2.12.

White Sox 8, Dodgers 2: A seven-run fifth inning gave the home ChiSox the win at Rate Field. The Blue Crew scored two twice in the second when Santiago Espinal singled in Kyle Tucker and Miguel Rojas, but that was it for the night.

The Chisox blowout win included a triple with two out that brought in two runs. Miguel Vargas was 3-for-4, including adouble, a walk and an RBI.

For the Dodgers only three players drew hits and Rojas was the man with two. The loss didn’t do much to upset the team’s post in the flag race; they are 44-26, eight games in front in the NL West.
