Angels, Dodgers get victories

THE DODGERS and Angels each won on Tuesday.

It’s not that common, but on Tuesday night both Los Angeles-Orange County MLB teams posted wins.

Dodgers 12, Twins 3: Sometimes the Blue Crew wins with top-notch pitching; sometimes it’s powerful hitting.
The win over the Minnesota team was an example of both. The team pounded out 17 hits in the game and piled on five runs in the ninth inning.

Alex Call hit his first home run, went 2-for-4 with three runs scored, one run batted in and two bases on balls.
Freddie Freeman was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. A total of six Dodgers had two or more hits.

Justin Wrobleski (9-2) pitched another strong game. He worked seven innings, yielding five hits and two earned runs. He struck out three batters and walked two and gave up a home run.

With the win, the Dodgers are 51-29 and lead the National League West by 9.5 games.

Angels 5, Orioles 1: Jumping off to an early lead with a first inning two-run home run by Nolan Schanuel, the Halos went on to a win in Anaheim.

The fifth inning brought three more runs.

The Angels got a sterling performance from starter Ryan Johnson. He pitched six innings, giving up just one hit. He struck out eight hitters and walked just one.

Schanuel batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Zach Neto was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

The Angels are now 33-48 and still in last place in the American League West.
