Nearly a dozen people were burned – financially, that is – for fireworks violations in Stanton.

According to a report issued recently by the City of Stanton, 11 citations were issued for $10,000 for a total of 21 illegal discharges of fireworks.

Additionally, four citations were issued in the amount of $2500 each. One fine in the amount of $5,000 was issued.

Preliminary information from the Orange County Fire Authority shows that fireworks violations declined in Stanton in 2026. No fire incidents requiring a response were reported and there were no injuries, either.

Despite the success, the city emphasizes that “illegal fireworks remain a serious threat to public safety and community’s quality of life.”
