An unusual Monday afternoon meeting of the Westminster City Council will be held at 2 p.m.

Topping the agenda is a proposed ordinance which would more than double the salaries of members of the city council and the mayor.

If approved, council members would be paid $1900 a month and the mayor $2500. The raise would not go into effect until the the November election.

Monday’s meeting is adjourned from the regular meeting scheduled last week. The council meets at 8200 Westminster Blvd.
