A HEAT WAVE is hitting Orange County (Shutterstock).

The heat wave which has hit West Orange County is expected to continue through the weekend but there should be some relief in the new week.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the 90s most of the week, “cooling” to the 80s by Sunday.

Cooling centers are open across Orange County, including Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster. According to the County of Orange, centers are located at:

• Garden Grove: Chapman Library, 9182 Chapman Ave., Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Garden Grove: Tibor Rubin Library (West Garden Grove) 11962 Bailey St., Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Garden Grove: Sports and Recreation Center, 13641 Deodara Dr., Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Huntington Beach: Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave. Hours may vary. Call (714) 842-4481.

• Stanton: Community/Civic Center: 7800 Katella Ave. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Westminster: Senior Center, 8200 Westminster Blvd., Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Westminster: Library, 8180 13th St., Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
