Huntington Beach improved to 2-0 in the young season on Thursday night as the Oilers defeated Los Alamitos 31-15 at Sheue Stadium.

Dallas Miller rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns and Brady Edmunds passed for 160 yards and one score. The visiting Griffins dropped to 0-2.

The orange-and-black will be next in action on Friday, Sept. 4 against Wilson High of Long Beach in another non-league game.

In other local prep football action on Thursday, Western lost 55-20 to Villa Park and Marina fell 42-21 to El Toro after leading 21-0 in early action.
