A PEDESTRIAN was fatally injured in Garden Grove on Tuesday (Shutterstock).

The area of Chapman Avenue and Euclid Street in Garden Grove was the scene of a fatal traffic accident that took the life of a 63-year-old man on Tuesday afternoon.

At about 3:48 p.m. a GGPD officer witnessed a male pedestrian who was struck by a Chevrolet Suburban on Chapman Avenue, west of Euclid Street.

The pedestrian was found in the roadway suffering from traumatic injuries. Other GGPD officers responded to the scene and rendered medical aid. Orange County Fire Authority personnel arrived and the pedestrian was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Suburban remained at the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
