Eastgate Park in West Garden Grove rocked out to Eighties music Thursday evening. Flashback Heart Attack performed New Wave rock from that era before a crowd of about 1,000 people. It was the second in a series of free summer concerts at the park, sponsored by the Garden Grove Community Foundation.
Next week the band Knyght Ryder will be on stage, performing music from the Nineties. On July 28, it will be Gold Rush Country with contemporary country tunes, followed by The Suffragettes with Top 40 songs on Aug. 4. The concert series concludes on Aug. 11 with The Answer, performing classic rock. That will also be the evening of the finals of the Voice of Garden Grove competition. Vocalists are singing before each concert and are judged; the winners advance to the finals.
Eastgate Park is located at the western terminus of Chapman Avenue, west of Valley View Street. The concerts start at 6:30 p.m.; the Voice competitions at 5:45 p.m.
