It’s going to be hot this weekend in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area. Temperatures will range in some areas into the mid-Nineties on Fridays before settling into the high Seventies and low Eighties by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, the high in Garden Grove on Friday is expected to be 94, with Westminster at 91 and Huntington Beach at 88.

There will some cooling on Saturday, with Garden Grove at 89, Westminster at 87 and Huntington Beach at 84. Sunday’s numbers will be mild by comparison, with Garden Grove at 83, Westminster at 82 and Huntington at 78.

Orange County cities further inland are expected to reach temperatures of 95 to 102 degrees.

In Garden Grove, the Lake Senior Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. as a cooling center. Weather officials have issued a heat advisory until 8 p.m. Saturday. People working outside are requested to take frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned locations.
