A mother and son pair arrested in the wake of a fatal shooting in Garden Grove on Aug. 25 have been released. According to published reports, the two have not been charged and have been released from custody by the Orange County District Attorney.

Adrian Gabriel Liscano, 19, of Garden Grove and his mother, Sandy Cisneros Liscano, were being held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail after an incident in the 13300 block of Stephens Avenue in Garden Grove, near Fairview Street and Trask Avenue at the eastern edge of the city, police said.

They were arrested on a murder charge in the death of Kellie Louise Nichol, 31, of Garden Grove at the climax of what police describe as a “physical altercation” in the 13500 block of Purdy St. near Trask and Newland Street that Thursday at around 11:17 p.m.

Police believe a third suspect, described only as a male Hispanic, 19, was the shooter in the incident. The handgun that took the life of Nichol has not yet been recovered. The search for him continues.
