BOLSA GRANDE and Orange High won football games Thursday night.

Bolsa Grande High’s football team posted its first victory in nearly two years Thursday night, while Marina and Orange went in different directions in their efforts to improve their records to 4-0 on the season.

Here are the results.

  • Bolsa Grande 27, Century 6

The Matadors last won a game in October 2014, so they were thrilled to win this home game against the Centurions (1-2). Daniel Strahan rushed for 108 yards on 34 carries and scored two touchdowns. Quarterback Andre Guillen ran for one score and passed for 67 yards. Bolsa (1-2) will next face Crean Lutheran at Irvine High on Sept. 23.

  • Santa Ana 33, Marina 21

In a back-and-forth game between two unbeaten teams at Boswell Field in Westminster, the Vikings lost their bid to improve their record to 4-0. The Vikes (3-1) led 21-19 going into the final quarter, but the Saints (3-0) rallied to get the win. Ian Green passed for 163 yards and Cooper Malerstein ran for 69 yards for Marina. The key fourth quarter play was a 102-yard return of an interception by Santa Ana which turned a potential Marina winning drive into Santa Ana’s game-winner with less than a minute to go. The Vikings will close out their preleague schedule on Sept. 23 when they visit Clark Field in Long Beach to play St. Anthony.

  • Orange 48, Laguna Beach 17

The Panthers are 4-0 after their big win Thursday at Fred Kelly Stadium. A 28-yard scoring outburst in the third quarter put the game out of reach for the Breakers (2-2). Brandon Warren rushed for 102 yards and three TDs, while Miguel Orendain passed for 54 yards – and a score – and ran for 77 more. Next up for OHS will be against Godinez (0-2) on Sept. 30.
