A fire Saturday night in Huntington Beach took the life of a 59-year-old man and did an estimated $250,000 in damage.
According to reports, the blaze was reported at a house at 10452 Shangri La Drive at 8:12 p.m. The body of Kenneth Konrath was found on the floor. When firefighters arrived, they saw that flames had blown through a sliding glass door and set fire to some palm trees in the yard.
It took about 25 minutes to knock down the blaze. A neighbor was treated for smoke inhalation, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The exact cause of death of Konrath has not yet been determined by the Orange County Coroner.
