LOS AMIGOS edged La Quinta 17-16 with a late score Thursday night.

Steve Hernandez’ 8-yard touchdown run with three minutes to play led Los Amigos to a 17-16 win over La Quinta in Garden Grove League action Thursday night at Bolsa Grande Stadium. The loss snapped a seven-game Aztec winning streak and dropped them into a tie for second in the GGL.

Hernandez was the star for the Lobos (6-3, 3-1 in league), scoring twice and rushing for 223 yards. Michael Nadeau led LQHS (7-2, 3-1) with two touchdown passes and 196 aerial yards.

Rancho Alamitos 42, Santiago 7. The Vaqueros rolled up a 36-0 halftime lead and coasted to the Garden Grove League win Friday night at Garden Grove Stadium. Blake Culbert passed for 359 yards in the win as Rancho improved to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in league. Santiago fell to 1-8 and 0-4.
