PRE-TRIAL hearings are scheduled Wednesday for two defendants in crimes in Huntington Beach and Garden Grove.

Two defendants in area crimes are scheduled for pre-trial hearings on Wednesday, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

Brian Lee Carsten will be in court at the North Justice Center in Fullerton at 8:30 a.m. to face charges of impersonating a fire official in Huntington Beach and other Orange County cities.

According to the OCDA, Carsten entered businesses in Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, Newport Beach and Anaheim claiming to be a fire marshal, charging a collecting money for a fraudulent fire inspection.

He was arrested by Anaheim police on Sept. 23 in connection also with possessing two firearms in violation of a domestic violence restraining order from Los Angeles.

Arlene Kathyrn Bautista will be in Central Justice Center in Santa Ana at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting in Garden Grove in August 2015.

She’s accused of killing her boyfriend, Luis Vodal, 25, on Aug. 5 in front of their mobile home.
