In ice hockey, a tie or a loss doesn’t have to be pointless. On Wednesday, the Anaheim Ducks picked up a point via a 3-2 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets in Ohio. The Ducks are 6-5-3 and the 15 points resulting have them in second place in the NHL Pacific Division.

But at 1:21 of overtime, Zach Werenski scored to settle the matter and get Columbus the win at Nationwide Arena.” We got better as the game went on. Anytime you’re down 2-0 on the road and you come back and get a point, you’ve done something that doesn’t darken the whole day because we lost in overtime.” said Ducks coach Randy Carlyle.

Next up for Anaheim is a game against Carolina Hurricanes Thursday evening.
