A WOMAN died she was struck by an automobile Friday while walking in the area of Bolsa Avenue and Magnolia Street.

A 71-year-old woman died after a traffic collision Friday morning in Westminster. According to authorities, the woman – identified as Hoa Thi Duong of Westminster – was in the crash at Bolsa Avenue and Magnolia Street around 8:22 a.m.

Police say that the woman may have crossed the street near or in a crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle. Duong was alert and spoke to medics and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange in stable condition, but she later died from her injuries.

“Based on the scene and witnesses, we believe some sort of right of way violation occurred at the crosswalk,” said Commander Cameron Knauerhaze of the WPD. “Both vehicles and pedestrians have a duty to look out for each other and watch the traffic lights for direction,” Knauerhaze added.

Anyone with information on this collision is urged to contact Investigator Davis, WPD Traffic Division at (714-) 548-3777.
