Taxes and sashes on HB agenda

HUNTINGTON BEACH City Council will meet on Monday and consider items relating to taxes, a beauty pageant and library hours (OC Tribune photo).

Taxes, library schedules and beauty queens will be on the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the Huntington Beach City Council.

Items to be considered include:

  • a proposal to consider the opening of the Central Library on Sundays
  • designating the Miss Huntington Beach pageant directed by Sand Dollars of Huntington Beach as the official pageant of the city and the winner to be Miss Huntington Beach
  • a sales tax sharing agreement with McKenna Motors Huntington Beach for the opening of a new Subaru dealership
  • property tax relief for owners who want to use the money to preserve or repair their historic property.

The council meets in its chambers at City Hall, 2000 Main St. (at Yorktown Avenue). The regularly scheduled meeting of Dec. 5 will be cancelled and a special meeting will be held on Dec. 12. New council members will be seated and a new mayor will be chosen.
