Chargers, Seahawks roll with victories

Edison and Ocean View remained atop their leagues Friday in area boys’ basketball action Friday, while the Garden Grove League race remained knotted up between Santiago and Bolsa Grande. The Seahawks are 6-0 in the Golden West League while the Chargers are 6-0 in the Sunset loop. The Cavaliers and Matadors have 5-1 marks in the Garden Grove League

On the girls’ side, La Quinta (5-1) could be the team to beat on the girls’ side as the Aztecs won and Garden Grove lost its first Garden Grove League contest to fall into second place.

Top scoring performances Friday for boys were Chris Robertson of Santiago with 26 points, Jordan Harris of Garden Grove with 24, and Randall Walker of Edison with 23. Among girls, the top scorers were Cecila Figueroia of Bolsa Grande with 20, Breanne Green of Westminster with 19 and Mercedes Robles with 14 for Pacifica.
