A FEDERAL judge in New York on Saturday issued an emergency order stopping enforcement of President Trump’s ban on travel from certain countries.
An order stopping President Donald Trump’s executive order banning temporality the admission of travelers from seven majority-Muslim nations was issued Saturday afternoon by a federal judge.
U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly issued the emergency measure on a petition by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of people with valid visas stopped at airports across the nation. The order, issued in New York, appeared to apply only to those with a visa or an approved refugee application.
Trump’s order, made on Friday, has already produced protests at and near airports across the nation. The president, speaking of his executive action, denied the ban was aimed at Muslims and said his order was “working out very nicely.”
