The westbound offramp of the Garden Grove Freeway on Harbor Boulevard in Garden Grove will be closed for four hours on Monday, according to the California Department of Transportation. The closure is necessary for guardrail repair, says CalTrans.
The closure will begin at 9 a.m. and should be lifted at 1 p.m. Detour signs will be posted to alert motorists. For more information, go to www.dot.ca.gov.dist12 .
OC FAIR ANNOUNCES 2017 THEME
The Orange County Fair has announced its them for 2017: “Farm Fresh Fun.” The intent is to “celebrate the county’s rich relationship with agriculture.” The 127th annual event runs at the Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa Wednesdays through Sundays July 14 through Aug. 13.
The Fairgrounds are located near the confluence of the San Diego (405) and Costa Mesa (55) freeways at 88 Fair Drive, near Orange Coast College.
MARINE OFFICER TO SPEAK IN GG
Marine Col. Jason G. Woodsworth will be in Garden Grove on Feb. 9 to speak before the Grampaw Pettibone Squadron of the Association of Naval Aviation. Col. Woodsworth is commander of the Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar.
The event will be held at the Elks Lodge #1952, 11551 Trask Ave., beginning at 11:30 a.m.
ORCHIDS COMING TO WESTMINSTER MALL
Westminster Mall will host the 2017 Orchid Expo and Sale of the Newport Harbor Orchid Society on Feb. 10 -12. This year’s theme is “Ride the Orchid Wave.” Admission is free, but there is a $6 fee for potting classes.
