The first “State of the City” address by Garden Grove Mayor Steve Jones will highlight a luncheon event Thursday at the Great Wolf Lodge, 12681 Harbor Blvd.
Jones, 48, was elected to the post in the Nov. 8 balloting, after service as a member of the city council.
Jones was born and raised in Garden Grove and attended local schools, being graduated from Rancho Alamitos High. He holds a B.A. degree is business management from USC and an MBA in finance and real estate from USC. He lists his occupation as assets manager.
He was appointed to fill a vacant spot on the city council in 2007, then elected to the post in 2008 and 2012.
Thursday’s event is hosted by the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce and will start at 11 a.m. Jones will speak about issues and accomplishments for the city, as well as his vision for the coming year.
