Apartment fire kills four pets

A 64-YEAR-OLD Huntington Beach man lost his life in a fire Wednesday morning.

A fire that did an estimated $50,000 in damage also took the life of a cat and three birds in Huntington Beach Wednesday night. According to authorities, the blaze was at a two-story apartment building in the 6400 block of Warner Avenue around 9 p.m.

The fire was put out by 30 firefighters. The loss was estimated to be $40,000 to property and $10,000 to contents. No people were at home when the fire started. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
