Nine firefighting units from Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley combined to extinguish a fire Monday night at a townhome in Huntington Beach.
According to the HBFD, the blaze was reported at 7:35 p.m. at 17550 Van Buren Lane in a two-story unit. Arriving firefighters saw smoke rising from the roof of the building and summoned additional units.
It took about 20 minutes to get the fire under control. No cause of the blaze has yet been determined. Three adults were displaced by the fire. There were no injuries and Huntington Beach firefighters rescued two pet cats and reunited them with their owners.
There are another cat rescue in the area. Orange County Fire Authority firefighters putting out a blaze in the 240 block of 5th Street in Seal Beach also rescued a feline pet.
