Apt. fire does $60,000 in damage

GARDEN GROVE firefighters battle a blaze at an apartment complex on Louise Street (GGFD photo).

Damage estimated at $60,000 was done to an apartment building in Garden Grove Wednesday afternoon. According to Capt. Thanh Nguyen of the Garden Grove Fire Department, the blaze was reported around 3 p.m. in the 12500 block of Louise Street.

No one was inside the unit where the fire originated, but firefighters evacuated a person from an adjacent unit without injury.

It took 11 minutes to get the fire under control, and damage was put at $45,000 to the structure and $15,000 to contents. The Red Cross was called to provide help for two adult residents displaced by the fire.

Orange County Fire Authority units provided assistance to the GGFD. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
