The Anaheim Ducks are thankful for the prowess of their goalkeepers. After a 50-save gem by John Gibson on Sunday, the Orange County team got 40 saves from backup goalie Reto Berra in Monday’s 3-2 shootout win over the San Jose Sharks.
With their third straight win, the Ducks improved their record to 10-7-3, keeping them in a tie for fourth place in the NHL Pacific Division,
Antoine Vermette got the winning goal in the shootout. Also scoring in the tiebreaker were Corey Perry, Cam Fowler and Brandon Montour. In regulation, the Ducks got goals from Perry and Rickard Rakell.
Next up for Anaheim will be a game in Honda Center on Wednesday on Wednesday against the Las Vegas Golden Knights (12-6-1).
