Four in the second lead to a 5-3 win

ANAHEIM DUCKS defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-3 on Wednesday.

The Anaheim Ducks scored four times in the second period and went on to post a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night at Honda Center.

Rickard Rakell, Adam Henrique, Chris Wagner and Ondrej Kase all scored in the decisive second period. The Ducks got one more from Hampus Lindholm as Anaheim held on for the win. The victory put the Orange County team at 21-16-9, good for 53 points and fifth place in the NHL Pacific Division.

“I thought we did a good job sticking with it,” Henrique said. “We had some big plays. Couple big saves, blocked shots and clears. That’s a huge win for our team.”

John Gibson got 30 saves in goal for Anaheim. Next up for the Ducks is a home game on Friday against the rival Los Angeles Kings (24-15-5). The Kings are in fourth, which is the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
