“MAZE RUNNER: The Death Cure” opens in cinemas this weekend.

Things are still a little slow as the world of entertainment recovers from the crush and rush of the holiday season. Still, here are a few ways to have fun in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area.

MOVIES

The major releases are sort of sparse this week, as just one comes out. That’s “Maze Runner: The Death Cure,” a sci-fi/action/thriller based on the young adult book. Rated PG-13.

ON STAGE

“Fiddler on the Roof” wraps up this weekend at the Westminster Community Playhouse with performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For showtimes and details, go to http://wcpstage.com .

EVENTS

On Wednesday (Jan. 31), Garden Grove Mayor Steve Jones will make the annual State of the City speech at the Embassy Suites. The event, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., is sold out, but you can read about it here in the Tribune that evening.
