The Anaheim Ducks stayed even with the Los Angeles Kings in a battle for fourth place in the NHL Pacific, thanks to a 4-3 shootout victory on Thursday at home against the Winnipeg Jets.
With the win, the Orange County team improved its record to 24-17-9, worth 57 points, the same as with the Kings.
The teams traded goals through regulation time, with Adam Enrique, Nick Ritchie and Ryan Kesler scoring for Anaheim. After a scoreless overtime, the Ducks won it when Henrique lit the lamp in the shootout. Ryan Miller made five stops in the shootout for the Ducks.
Next up for the Ducks is the All-Star break in Tampa Bay, with the Pacific All-Stars against the Central All-Stars on Sunday. Forward Rickard Rakell will represent Anaheim.
