
FOUR PERSONS were hospitalized on Monday night after a two-car crash on Brookhurst Street near Yorktown Avenue in Huntington Beach (HBFD photo).
Four people were hospitalized Monday evening in the aftermath of a traffic accident on Brookhurst Street, just south of Yorktown Avenue in Huntington Beach.
According to Chuck Stubbings, public information officer for the Huntington Beach Fire Department, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. Two cars were involved and the crash was so severe that the Jaws of Life device had to be employed to extricate those trapped in the car.
They were assessed and transported by HBFD paramedics to local hospitals for further evaluation. In addition to five Huntington Beach fire engines and trucks, other units taking part were two from Fountain Valley and one from Costa Mesa. Four HBFD emergency transport vehicles were also employed.
The traffic accident is being investigated by the Huntington Beach Fire Department.
