TGIF: Chasing revenge, music and hounds

BRUCE WILLIS stars in “Death Wish.”

Death wishes, dancing and dachshunds and more are on the menu for entertainment for the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area this weekend.

At the Movies

Films opening in local cinemas this weekend include:

  • “Death Wish” is a modern remake of the 1974 revenge fantasy. Bruce Willis goes vigilante to fight crime. Also starring Elizabeth Shue. Rated R for frequent violence, language.
  • “Red Sparrow” stars Jennifer Lawrence as a Russian spy targeting a CIA agent. Rated R for nudity, violence and sex.

Performances in live theaters in the area

Hot dog! It’s time for the Dachshund Races at the Old World Village in Huntington Beach on Sunday at 3 p.m. (doors open at 2 p.m.) Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for kids. Address: 7561 Center Ave. (south of the Costco store, west of Gothard Street).
