SEVEN area high school teams have won CIF-SS rankings for spring sports.

It may be a rainy week for most of us, but it looks like a dry spring for area high school baseball and softball rankings.

According to the CIF-SS polls released Monday, only four teams from the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area made the top 10s in those sports.

In baseball, Huntington Beach (6-2) is rated eighth in Division 1, while Bolsa Grande (4-1) is seventh in Division 7.

In softball, Pacifica (5-2) is fifth in Division 1 and Edison (1-0) is ninth in Division 2.

However, in another sport, the news is a bit better.

In boys’ volleyball, Huntington Beach (11-2) is seventh in Division 1. Rancho Alamitos (5-1) is second in Division 4 and Garden Grove (2-1) is first in Division 5.
