If you live in Garden Grove or Huntington Beach – and, if you’re reading this post, chances are pretty good you are – you are likely to be quite happy.
Don’t take our word for it. Check out the annual rankings of WalletHub.com for the Happiest Cities in America for 2018. According to that website, Surf City is the fourth happiest city in California and ninth happiest in the U.S.A.
The Big Strawberry did pretty well, too, rated 10th happiest in California and 27th in the United States.
WalletHub evaluated the 182 cities in the U.S. with a population of 100,000 and over, and assigned rankings based on depression, income growth rate, leisure time, access to parks, etc.
Orange County did well overall, with Irvine being eighth best in the nation, third in the state, followed by Huntington Beach, Garden Grove and Anaheim (29th)
The lowest-ranked city overall was Detroit (182nd). The lowest-ranked California city was Stockton (154th). Lowest among Orange County cities was Santa Ana (71st).
