Bus color and more on Tuesday agenda

NEW GREEN BUS benches in Garden Grove have drawn some criticism (Orange County Tribune photo).

It’s not easy being green.

The fate of the somewhat unpopular lime green bus benches being installed around town will be on the agenda of the regular session of the Garden Grove City Council on Tuesday.

A continuation of the discussion held earlier this month on the benches will be held. Among the concerns expressed were the number of benches, how they clashed visually with the existing blue bus shelters, and the color of the benches.

One suggestion offered in a staff report would be to re-paint the new benches a darker shade of green.

Also on the agenda are:

  • second reading and final adoption of an ordinance raising water rates
  • a presentation from the Orange County Fire Authority
  • approval of a tract map and agreement for the construction of 17 townhomes at Buaro Street and Chapman Avenue.

The council meets in its chambers in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. at 6:30 p.m.
