A young child has been hospitalized after suffering “severe” wounds inflicted by one of the family’s Doberman Pinscher dogs in Garden Grove.
According to Capt. Thanh Nguyen, spokesperson for the Garden Grove Fire Department, the dog bite incident was reported just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday in the 12000 block of Trask Avenue.
The child was lying in a dog bed in the home when one of the family’s two Dobermans’ attacked him, inflicting wounds which were considered serious but not life-threatening.
Garden Grove firefighter-paramedics treated the child, who was taken to Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Orange for further care.
Both dogs are on a 10-day quarantine and an investigation into a “potentially dangerous/vicious dog” has been started.
