Jason Joseph Becher, then 41, will face a murder charge in Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, charged with the killing of Marylou Sarkissian, who he had previously dated. According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, the victim had a restraining order in place against Becher, but he went to her home in the early hours of Dec. 2 after he had been out drinking.

The suspect allegedly beat and strangled the woman, then fled.  Later that day, a person called the Huntington Beach Police Department and asked for a check on Sarkissian’s welfare. Officers found her body in her home.

A warrant was issued for Becher’s arrest, and he was arrested in Grants Pass, Oregon the next day. He was later extradited back to Orange County to face the charges.
