Koreatown bank robbed with cell phone

A bank in the Koreatown section of Garden Grove was held up Friday afternoon by a suspect who walked away after the robbery.

According to Garden Grove police, the incident was reported at 2:41 p.m. at the HSBC Bank, 9622 Garden Grove Blvd.

A man entered the bank and showed the teller a written message on his cellular phone demanding money. The robber was given about $650 in cash.

The suspect fled the bank on foot and was last seen walking eastbound away from the bank. He is described as a male Hispanic, 25 to 30 years old, 6-feet tall, about 200 lbs. with short black hair and a short black beard. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt, gray dress pants and dark shoes.
