A new streak: Ducks win 2nd straight

The Anaheim Ducks won their second straight game Saturday night, defeating the New Jersey Devils 3-2 on the road.

Rookie Troy Terry scored his first NHL goal and John Gibson had 32 saves in goal as the Ducks pieced together another win after dropping 12 games in a row.

The victory improved the team’s record to 21-19-8, giving the Orange County 51 points and sole possession of fourth place in the NHL Pacific Division.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first period, the Ducks went ahead on goals by Daniel Sprong and Terry. The second period was scoreless, but each team scored once in the third, the winning Anaheim goal by Derek Grant coming at 5:11.

The Ducks are back in action on Sunday visiting the New York Islanders (28-15-4, 60 points), the leader of the Metropolitan Division.
