Two city council meetings are on tap

TWO HUNTINGTON Beach City Council meetings are scheduled for this week.

The Huntington Beach City Council has two meetings this week, one on Monday and one on Thursday.

Monday’s meeting will have a study session at 4 p.m., a closed session at 5 p.m. and the regular session at 6 p.m.

Highlighting the agenda for Monday’s meeting will be a report from City Attorney Michael Gates regarding the city’s legal struggle with the State of California over Huntington Beach’s housing plan, which the state is claiming does not include the legally-required level of affordable housing.

On Thursday, the council will meet at 8 a.m. in the Huntington Beach Central Library for a strategic planning retreat at which members will seek to outline goals and objectives for the next 12 months, and identify strengths and weaknesses of the city.

Monday’s meeting will be in the council chambers in the Civic Center, 2000 Main St. (at Yorktown Avenue). The Central Library is located at 7111 Talbert Ave. (at Goldenwest Street).
