Man held on peddling marijuana charge

A 30-YEAR-OLD Garden Grove man was arrested for allegedly trying to give marijuana to teenage girls.

A 30-year-old Garden Grove man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly trying to give marijuana to a minor.

According to Sgt. Brian Dalton of the GGPD, the incident occurred on Jan. 25 around 1:15 p.m. in the area of Fairview Street and Trask Avenue, near the city’s eastern limit.

The suspect – identified by police as Julio Lugo Torres – allegedly approached two teenage girls in a business parking lot, asking for directions to a location where he could go to buy drugs.

He allegedly tried to coerce them into his white Ford Explorer by providing them with marijuana. They refused and fled the area. However, they were able to take a photo of the vehicle and provide police with information that led to the arrest of Torres. He was booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana.

GGPD investigators learned that Torres is employed by the Santa Ana Unified School District and are seeking any additional victims or witnesses, asking them to call Investigator Matt Marchand (714) 741-5704.
