Boy, 14, is struck in a crosswalk

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy is in critical but stable condition after being struck by a car while in a crosswalk in Garden Grove Wednesday morning (Shutterstock).

A 14-year-old boy is in critical but stable condition after being struck by a car while walking in a crosswalk in Garden Grove Wednesday morning.

According to Master Officer Paul Ashby of the GGPD, the incident took place in the area of Nelson Street and Garden Grove Boulevard at around 8:49 a.m.

The youth was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment.

Members of the GGPD Traffic Unit investigated the accident and evaluated the driver, who showed no signs of impairment.

    Remember. Look left, look right. Repeat as needed.

    Pedestrians and bicyclists must remember to not ever rely on motorists to yield or watch out for them. They don’t. Too many distractions. Majority of drivers do not drive politely, or respectful, of walking or biking folks. Reality.
