A motorist seriously injured in a one-car crash last Tuesday in Huntington Beach succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
According to Motor Sgt. Erik Warken of the HBPD, the man – identified only as a 26-year-old Huntington Beach resident – was involved in an incident in which his Nissan Titan truck went out of control in the area of Yorktown Avenue and Honeywood Lane around 6:38 a.m. on March 5.
The vehicle was traveling east on Yorktown from Magnolia Street when it swerved into oncoming traffic lanes and then back into the eastbound lanes before striking a block wall and a utility pole.
Police say the driver was not wearing his seatbelt and suffered major injuries. He was taken to Orange County Global Hospital in Santa Ana.
